Rett's syndrome is a unique developmental disorder created from a genetic mutation on the X chromosome that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls.

Rett syndrome causes problems in brain function that are responsible for cognitive, sensory, emotional, motor and autonomic function. These can include learning, speech, sensory sensations, mood, movement, breathing, cardiac function, and even chewing, swallowing, and digestion.

Live Music by Something Underground

Keynote Speaker was Erik Weihenmayer the only blind person to have climbed the "Seven Summits," the tallest peak on every continent. He has scaled the 3000 foot rock face of El Capitan, skied down the tallest peak in Europe, and guided Tibetan blind teenagers to 21,500 feet on the north side of Mt Everest. Erik is also a prolific speaker and author of two books.
